Shakti Sādhana Retreat

August 24 - 30, 2026 | Nass Valley, Northern BC, Canada

The Shakti Sādhana Retreat is a 10-day intensive into the living, breathing world of traditional Tantric practice & ritual. It is a call to those ready to step deeply into devotion, subtle energetics, and embodied ritual.

What to Expect

This retreat is both participatory and, by invitation, initiatory:

  • For retreat guests: You’ll be immersed in daily practices—mantra japa, fire ceremony (yajña), pūjā, yantra building, and guided ritual experiences—that enliven the body, clear stagnant energy, and deepen connection with Shakti.

  • For initiates (invite-only): You’ll not only participate, but also begin to learn how to carry out these rituals yourself—how to hold the mantra, build the yantra, prepare offerings, and tend the sacred fire.

Both paths are honored, and both lead into the heart of experiential Tantra.

Benefits

While every journey is unique, many participants experience:

  • A more embodied, lived understanding of Tantra

  • Revitalization of body, mind, and energetic system

  • A loosening or clearing of inner blockages

  • A deeper connection with Devī, the Divine Mother

  • The first stirrings of kundalinī awakening

  • A profound sense of belonging among fellow sādhaks

Why In Person?

We can learn concepts online—but Tantra is experiential.

You cannot understand yajña until you’ve placed samagri offerings into the fire.

You cannot know the yantra until you’ve carved and painted its lines yourself.

You cannot taste the resonance of mantra until it’s lived on your lips in the company of others devoted to the same truth.

This retreat offers what books and screens cannot: living practice in sacred community, body to body, breath to breath, mantra to mantra.

Who It’s For

  • Practitioners with some background in yoga, meditation, or Tantra who feel ready to enter the world of subtle energetics and devotion

  • Experienced seekers wanting to go beyond intellectual understanding and into lived practice

  • Those drawn to fire, ritual, mantra, and the living presence of Shakti

This is not a beginner retreat for those needing everything explained through rational or purely tangible frameworks. It’s for those willing to step into mystery and allow practice itself to reveal truth.

The Setting

Held in the sacred Nass Valley of Northern British Columbia, this retreat is nestled among ancient forests, mountains, and rivers—a powerful container for spiritual work. In August, the land is alive with wild beauty, spaciousness, and quiet.

Volunteer

This option is for individuals who want to fully immerse themselves in the retreat experience by arriving 5 days before the Sangha Gathering and staying 5 days after the retreat. As a volunteer, you'll play a vital role behind the scenes, helping to set things up, mow the lawn, make beds, wash laundry, and ensure that the gathering runs smoothly. During your stay, you'll camp on our picturesque grounds, contributing to the communal spirit of the ashram while enjoying the beauty of nature. Please note that there are a limited number of spaces for this option, and we will likely only need five people.

Scholarship

We believe that sincere seekers should never be held back by finances. Our scholarship option is available for those who feel deeply called to join the retreat but need some financial support to make it possible. This offering is rooted in compassion and community — an invitation to step into the practice with honesty, humility, and heart.

If this resonates, we welcome you to apply and share a bit about your journey and intention for joining.
