Restore You - Yoga Retreat

May 25 - 28 , 2017

Come unwind, shed layers of tension and feel a deep, long overdue, relaxing.  We will practice restorative yoga daily along with other activities such as; guided meditations, hiking in the forest, bathing in hot springs, watching movies, cacao ceremonies and more.  You're encourage to honour how you're feeling in each moment taking part in as much or as little as you feel.  

Cacao Ceremony 
Cacao comes from the same seeds as chocolate.  There is an alkaloid called theobromine, which has a similar chemical structure, and has been mistaken for caffeine in the past. Theobromine is a very mildly stimulating cousin of caffeine and does not have the intensity or jitteriness of caffeine.
A cacao ceremony is an opportunity to connect to yourself and open your heart. Because of cacao’s ability to increase your connection to your inner self and your heart chakra, it aids in any transformational shift you are working towards, whether you are looking to deepen your understanding of who you are, release old patterns and traumas, or move into a more self-confident space. Whatever your path, the intention is yours to set, and the cacao allows you to the insight and awareness to move towards that goal.  

 


Restorative Yoga
Restorative Yoga soothes the nervous system, encourages mindfulness, fosters transcendence, Deepens Self-awareness and introspection.   Restorative Yoga is done in a deeply relaxing and slow moving way.  Restorative yoga often involves the use of a lot of props.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is an incredibly relaxing and restorative yoga practice.  It involves getting extremely comfortable in sivasana (corpse pose) and then being guided into deep states of relaxation.  This form of Yoga has been known to reduce anxiety, post-traumatic stress, depression and heal physical ailments.

Guided Meditations 
Meditations will be lead daily of both short and long duration and many of them will be focused on our own heart.  These meditations will encourage a deep listening to our own intuition and a fostering of honouring our own inner truths.  



Nature walks
Anuttara ashram is surrounded by old growth forest, water-falls, cliffs and beautiful mountains.  We will spend time exploring this beautiful locations and using the healing energies of these natural locations to foster our own grounding and restoration.  

Hot Springs
Not far from Anuttara are some Natural Hot Springs which we will also make a trip to, to bathe in.  

Hot springs are more than just a “hot tub”—they’re precious for relaxation, health, and restoration. Hot springs are reputed to have a number of therapeutic benefits: soaking in hot springs increases your blood flow, circulation, metabolism, and absorption of essential minerals. Their waters could help treat chronic digestive diseases, constipation, diabetes, gout, and liver complaints.
