Meditation Teacher Training

Anuttara's Meditation Teacher Training course is an offering for you to both dive deeper into your meditation practice as well as to become empowered to guide others through the vast and expansive practice that is meditation.

Through Anuttara you can become certified as a 600+ hour Meditation Teacher through four 150 hour modules.  Each of these modules can also be done individually which would certify you as a 150-hour Meditation Teacher.  The modules do not need to be done in any particular order and can be joined at any time.  The modules are done in a semi-retreat style.  This means that half of each module is practical study & the other half is a personal practice.  This combination of intellectual understanding and direct experience establishes the practitioner, as a complete and holistic meditation teacher.

**This course is recognized through the Yoga Alliance as a Continuing Education Program.**

Raja Yoga Meditation Module

This module focuses on the meditative aspect of Yoga.  This is an immersion into the methods of meditation that have been practiced for thousands of years and authenticated through the affirmation of ancient yogis and masters from the Indus Valley.  This course is meant for people who are interested in deepening their knowledge of the yogix forms of meditation.  It will also be of interest to teachers of yoga and/or meditation in order to bring an authentic philosophical understanding towards yoga in order to guide their students towards their own Truth.

150-hour module - Sept. 10 - 28, 2020

Buddhism & Mindfulness Module

Mindfulness has become a buzz word in today's society.  This module will provide a historical look as well as a direct experience of mindfulness and Buddhist meditation as a spiritual practice and direct path to Nirvana.

We will look at the different forms of Buddhism including Theravada, Zen and Tibetan Buddhism.

Advaita Vedanta Module

This non-dual tradition of the east has expanded across the world and similarities in its core philosophy can be found in all of the major religions.  Together we will explore the path of Self-knowledge, (re)discovering our Highest Selves as formless expansiveness.

150-hour module - Dates TBA

Kashmir Shaivist Module

A lesser-known meditation style in the western world, Kashmir Śaivism is a general designation for the nondualistic school of thought that emerged in Kashmir, in northwest India.  This tradition is seeped in both mystery and metaphysics.  This module will provide practitioners with the opportunity to practice some very powerful meditation techniques and study the philosophy of an ancient and almost completely forgotten eastern tradition.
