Hyder, Alaska

Immerse yourself in the wild, natural and unbelievably serene Alaska.  Visit an old gold rush town, stay in a historical hotel, hike mountains, meditate with thousand year old glaciers, watch for grizzlies, eagles, black bears, moose and many other wildlife.  Meet the locals and hear their amazing stories of living in a small town on the edge of Alaska’s wilderness.  Visit the lava beds, view waterfalls and sit in the old growth forests of Northern BC. 

Itinerary

Day 1 
 

Picked up in Terrace at 2pm
Make the beautiful drive up North along the Nisga'a Highway

Visit and swim in the gorgeous Lava Lake
Hike through Lava beds and view waterfalls
Arrive at Anuttara Retreat Centre for a wholesome Vegetarian Meal grown from our own Garden
Restorative Yoga and Mindfulness Meditation
Sleep in private cabins, dorms or tents

Day 2 

Wake up early for yoga and meditation
Simple Hot Breakfast 
Travel Northwest towards Stewart BC (on the border of Hyder Alaska)
Check in to the Historic Ripley Creek Inn with it's
newly renovated 20th c. Buildings
Settle in, free time to shop, rent bikes, have dinner and browse around the adorable Stewart, BC
Around Sunset we travel Hyder Alaska to the
viewing grounds of the Grizzly Bears 
Come back to Ripley Creek Inn
Guided Meditation before bed

Day 3

Early rise for optional Bear viewing in Hyder Alaska
Yoga and Meditation
Breakfast in Stewart BC
Travel to Hyder Alaska to view the Salmon Glacier watch for bears, moose, eagles and more along the way
Hike around the Glacier and the mountain meadows
Guided Meditation next to the glacier 
(Packed lunch)
Travel to grizzly viewing platform
Restorative Yoga and Meditation
Dinner and free time

Day 4

Early rise for optional Bear viewing in Hyder Alaska
Yoga and Meditation
Breakfast in Stewart BC
Small amount of free time to get final souvenirs etc. 
Travel South East towards Anuttara 
Arrive at Anuttara for Dinner 
Restorative (relaxing) yoga class and guided meditation
Sleep in private cabins, dorms or tents

Day 5

Wake up early for yoga and meditation class 
Simple Hot Breakfast 
Hike the grounds of Anuttara to view the 'look out', river and waterfall
Snacks
Travel South towards Terrace - Drop off

 

Your Guide

Aarti/Artemis Doyle

Artemis or Aarti as some call her, will be guiding you on this exciting yoga adventure to Alaska.  Artemis is a Yoga teacher who has been travelling abroad for almost a decade.  She has been travelling to see the abundant beauty of southern Alaska for the last three years and is eager to share this exciting space with others.  

Aarti  feels called to share her passion for travel and to help encourage others to rise to their fullest potential, seize the day and make the most of every moment.  Through her personal experience, she is able to make authentic connections with others and to inspire adventure in them!
